DiSpirito 50th anniversary
Robert Sr. and Marilyn DiSpirito of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage July 5 at the Newman Center at Slippery Rock. The couple renewed their vows and enjoyed a dinner reception for family and friends.
DiSpirito married the former Marilyn Muegge on July 4, 1958, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Woonsocket, R.I.
They have five children, Robert DiSpirito Jr. of Dunedin, Fla.; James DiSpirito of Pittsburgh; David DiSpirito of Douglass, Mass.; Diane Magliocca of Slippery Rock and Lisa Redman of Tarpon Springs, Fla.
They also have 11 grandchildren.
DiSpirito retired from working as the head football coach and professor of recreation at Slippery Rock University.
Mrs. DiSpirito retired from the Slippery Rock School District where she worked as a high school and middle school English teacher.
The DiSpiritos are members of St. Peter Catholic Church in Slippery Rock.
