Clair "Bub" and Barb Jewart

Clair "Bub" and Barb Jewart of Karns City celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise open house July 27 at the Clay Township Municipal Building in West Sunbury.

Jewart married the former Barbara Vargo on July 25, 1958, at the North Butler Presbyterian Church in Chicora.

They have three children, Jodie Heckman of Utica, Mike Jewart of Hooker and Judy Scott of Slippery Rock.

They also have six grandchildren.Jewart is retired from the Sprint Phone Company in Butler. He belongs to the Butler County Horseshoe League and enjoys fishing and camping.Mrs. Jewart is a homemaker. She enjoys camping and caring for her grandchildren.The Jewarts are members of the North Butler Presbyterian Church.
