John R. Scarfo of Cranberry Township was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, his 78th birthday.

John was the founding police chief for Cranberry Township.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Scarfo; loving father of John Scarfo Jr., David Scarfo (Mimi), Dana Hobbs (Jay), Shannon Mesko (John), Ryan McGuire (Juli); beloved son of Rose (Secilia) Scarfo Johnson; and brother of Virgil Scarfo. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

<B>SCARFO</B> — Friends of John R. Scarfo, who died Sunday, June 22, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY</B>, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, 724-772-8800. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at the SS. John and Paul Church at a time to be announced.
