Freeport marks 175th anniversary
FREEPORT — Freeport's 175th anniversary festivities start Saturday and run through Aug. 2.
The "Massey Harbison" play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through Aug. 3 at the Freeport Theatre Festival site, 2498 White Cloud Road, Leechburg. Tickets cost $12.
The Porch Promenade will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The public can visit 14 of Freeport's most interesting porches and gardens. Tickets cost $5 and are available in advance at the Freeport Library or on the day of the event on Fifth Street.
Food and craft booths will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 2 and from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through next Wednesday at Riverside Park.
The library yard sale will be from noon to 4 p.m. July 31 and Aug. 1 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Freeport Area Library on Market Street.
The Lighted Boat Parade will start at dusk on Aug. 1 at Riverside Park. The celebration will come to a close with Freeport's 175th Anniversary Parade, starting at 2 p.m. Aug. 2.
