James

Evelyn "Jean" James, 74, of Chicora, formerly of East Butler, died 7:20 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 6, 1934, in East Butler, she was the daughter of Harry William Stewart and Daisy Edith Crispin Stewart.

She was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church, and she had been a member of the East Butler Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering and home decorating.

Surviving are one sister, Dorothy Day of East Butler; two brothers, Harry Stewart of East Butler and Donald Stewart of Butler; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allison "Jesse" W. James, who died July 6, 2005; two sisters, and one brother.

<B>JAMES</B> — Friends of Evelyn "Jean" James, who died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, will be received 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the <B>YOUNGFUNERALHOME, LTD.</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Mary H. Sickels, officiating.
