Shultz

Guy C. Shultz, 74, of Cowansville died Tuesday evening at Kindred Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Shultz was born at his family home April 12, 1934, and lived his entire life in Sugarcreek Township, near East Brady.

After graduating high school in 1952, he attended the Ross Lefler School of Conservation to become a Pennsylvania Game Conservation Officer. He was a part-time conservation officer for 44 years.

Mr. Shultz was a railroad engineer for Pullman Standard of Butler, before his retirement. He also served as zoning officer for Sugarcreek Township. In addition, he was involved in organizing the volunteer fire department in Sugarcreek Township and in creating the Frogtown Wildlife Club and Sugarcreek Park.

He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing and hunting until his health prohibited these activities.

He will be fondly remembered, and his stories will be sadly missed by township residents, government officials and others in law enforcement.

Mr. Shultz was a devoted family man, being one of 15 children and the father of six children. Besides his wife, Anne, of 11 years, he is survived by his three sons, Richard and his wife, Sue, of New Hampshire, Timothy and his wife, Alphonsina, and her son, Angelo of East Brady and Tracy and his wife, Sally, and her daughters, Leah and Kelly, of Cowansville; his two daughters, Tammy Beham and her husband, Clyde, of East Brady and Lorraine Tyner and her husband, Dwayne, of Mississippi; his five grandchildren, Tricia Wise, Clinton Beham, Jessica Schaub, Alissa Shultz and Conor Shultz; and his wife's two sons, Robert and Nelson Shaffer.

He is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Ann; his sisters Sally, Rose and Caroline; his brothers, Ted and Jim; his past wife, Patty; and his daughter, Renee.

<B>SHULTZ </B>— A memorial service for Guy C. Shultz, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, will be held at 10 a.m. July 5 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Chicora R.D. 1. The family will host a celebration of Guy's life reception following the service.A memorial fund to honor Guy's years of public service has been established to make improvements to Sugarcreek Park.
