Eleanor Sulyk Egli

Eleanor Sulyk Egli, 81, of Slippery Rock died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday after an extended illness.

Born Oct. 21, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the son of William and Helen Hoblak Sulyk.

Mrs. Egli was a 1948 graduate of East Stroudsburg State Teachers College, now called East Stroudsburg University.

She was a homemaker and taught for 21 years at the Slippery Rock Community Nursery School.

She was a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.

She had great interest in photography and birds.

She is survived by her husband, James William Egli, who she married Aug. 10, 1949; two sons, Bruce James, and his wife, Bonnie Lynn, Egli of Swissvale, and Brian James, and his wife, Kristin Kay, Egli of Salem, Ohio; two grandchildren, Alicia Eleanor Eavey of Brownsburg, Ind., and Evan James Egli of Salem, Ohio; and a brother, Alyn Sulyk of Hilton Head islands, S.C.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Eleanor Eavey, and a grandson, Nathan Edward Egli.

<B>EGLI</B> — Services for Eleanor Sulyk Egli, who died Saturday, June 14, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Slippery Rock University Methodist Church with the Rev. Pamela Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service and also following the service in the social hall of the church. Burial will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.Arrangements are by the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B> in Slippery Rock.
