Ruth A. Weiland, 84, of Chicora died at 8:05 p.m. Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Nov. 3, 1923, in Concord Township, she was the daughter of James B. and Edith Hough Barnhart.

She was a former member of the Concord Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Weiland was a homemaker and had been a waitress at the Davey and Hilliard Rexall Drug Store.

She is survived by her husband, John M. Weiland, whom she married May 22, 1944; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Ross of Mount Chestnut and Judy K. Pearce of Butler; a granddaughter, Christina James of Hopewell; a sister, Agnes E. Ludlow of Kingwood, Texas; a brother, James B. Barnhart Jr. of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>WEILAND</B> — Friends of Ruth A. Weiland, who died Saturday, June 7, 2008, will be received from to 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Brewer of the Saxonburg Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.
