Charles Walter King
Charles Walter "Walt" King, 85, of Ford City died Sunday.
Born March 3, 1923, in Pattonville, he was the son of James Earl and Ellen Marie Klingensmith King.
He was a World War II Army veteran and had worked at PPG in the gunsight department and also was a plumber and furnace man at Arners.
Mr. King attended the Worthington Baptist Church.
He enjoyed riding his moped and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Marie Hammond King, whom he married Sept. 15, 1946; his children and their husbands, Karen and Arthur Hemphill of Butler and Marcia and John Porterfield of Manor Township; three grandchildren, Brian Elwood and his wife, Kathie, and John and Eric Porterfield; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Derek Elwood; a brother, Edward Ralph King of Huntersville, N.C.; and a sister, Lois Priester of Ford City.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Dean and James King.
<B>KING </B>— Friends of Charles Walter "Walt" King, who died Sunday, June 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Mantini Funeral Home</B>, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Simpson officiating. Burial will be at LawnHaven.
