Clarence "Butch" and Bonnie Yates of Cabot will celebrate 40 years of marriage with an open house from noon to 3 p.m. July 19 at Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot.

Yates married the former Bonnie Wetzel on Aug. 19, 1968, in Upper Marlboro, Md. The justice of the peace officiated.

They have two children, Paula Scott and Denise McCandless, both of Cabot.

They also have one grandson and are expecting another.

Yates is an operator for Pulva Corporation.

Mrs. Yates is a homemaker and provides child care for her grandson.

The couple attend Cabot United Methodist Church.
