Norma Blanche Hayes
Norma Blanche Williams Hayes, 87, went to be with the Lord on Saturday while at the Concordia Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Norma, affectionately known by many as "Normie," was born on Nov. 26, 1920, in Craigsville, Pa. She was the daughter of Walter Raymond Williams and Grace Vienna Blose Williams.
She married Ralph William Hayes on Aug. 12, 1941, and they lived in Unionville until they retired to Florida, where they lived until Ralph's death on May 17, 1993. After that, Norma returned to Butler County.
Norma was a homemaker and loved making afghans and crafts for her family. She was a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church and Methusala's Many, where she served for many years prior to moving to Florida.
While in Florida and upon her return to Pennsylvania, she maintained her over-60 year alliance with the church. She is a former member of the Rebekkah Lodge of Butler.
She is survived by her four children, Ralph W. Hayes Jr. and his wife, Rita, Robert C. Hayes and his wife, Bonnie, all of Butler, Catherine E. Flick and her husband, James, of Eastlake, Ohio, and Donald W. Hayes and his wife, Teirrah, of Butler; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, Virginia Rettig and her husband, Floyd, and Zetta Mae Pistorious, both of Butler.
In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
<B>HAYES</B> — Friends of Norma Blanche Williams Hayes, who died Saturday, May 31, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Matt Kail, officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Unionville Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001 and the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
