Arlene Mildred MacKinnon, 91, formerly of Renfrew and New Castle, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

Born March 11, 1917, in Worcester, Mass., she was a daughter of George Warren Clay and Gertrude Bliss.

She retired from Malcolm Office Equipment in Willimantic, Conn., which she had owned and operated with her husband. She also was a licensed cosmetologist.

Mrs. MacKinnon was a member of Faith Gospel Chapel, Leesburg.

Surviving are a daughter Carol Lavoie and her husband, Tom, of Woodstock, Ill., formerly of Renfrew; and two grandchildren, Dan Lavoie and his companion, Maegen McMillen; and Esther Rogas and her husband, Rojelio.

Her husband, Malcom Herschel MacKinnon, who she married April 22, 1947, died Nov. 25, 1993. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy A. Eteroth and Doris Thurber; and a brother, George B. Clay.

<B>MACKINNON</B> — Friends of Arlene Mildred MacKinnon, who died Monday, June 2, 2008, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, where a service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gil Bourquin of Putnam Baptist Church, Putnam, Conn., officiating.A memorial service also will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the large chapel at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, with the Rev. Jack Hartman, Concordia chaplain, officiating.Burial will be at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.Memorial donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023 or to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090-9277
