Butler Church of the NazareneJim Rea, Gordon Thompson and Gwen Atkinson will present the special music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service at the Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68. The Rev. Ron Reagle, an evangelist from Franklin, will speak at the morning and at the 6 p.m. service.Vacation Bible school will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to July 11 at the church. Christ's OutreachChrist's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will hold Praise Fest at 6 p.m. Friday. This free community event will feature a hot dog eating contest for ages 12 and up, hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, prizes and live music. Participants can watch Butler's fireworks from the lawn.Christ's Outreach Church's food bank needs to be restocked. The foods featured for July are canned meats, noodles and boxed meals.The Grub Runners will leave the church's parking lot at 6 p.m. Tuesday and will proceed to the Hardwood Cafe for dinner.There will be blood pressure screening after the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.

Community LifeCommunity Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School. The church is collecting paper products on Sundays during July for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Cupboard.The youth group will have a Fourth of July celebration at 6 p.m. Friday at the Ogle's home. Covenant PresbyterianCovenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. First Baptist First Baptist Church, 221 W. First English Lutheran The summer music schedule for First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., is posted in the Social Room.During July, the church will gather donations to purchase backpacks and school supplies.

First United Methodist The church office of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will be closed on Friday. Community Meal and The Second Grace Shoppe also will be closed for the holiday.The Second Grace Shoppe will be open from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Thursdays and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.Fridays, with the exception of July 4.

Hill United PresbyterianHill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. will celebrate the Lord's Supper at weekend services. The youth mission team will take part in the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.A reception to recognize the mission trip participants and associate pastor John Porter's ministry will be held following Sunday worship.There will be no Sunday school this week. New Life Christian MinistriesBrad French will continue the Sermon on the Mount series Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, South Butler Primary School, 328 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.The mission of the month is the backpack ministry. Children who attend Power Lab Community vacation Bible school and church members will donate school supplies and backpacks for needy children. The items will be collected from Sunday through August 10. North Main Street Church of GodThe office of North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will be closed Friday for Independence Day.A Concert on the Lawn will be held at 7 p.m. July 10 and will feature the Deahl family. Bring lawn chairs. Refreshments will be served.

Old Union Presbyterian On Friday, the deacons of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will deliver the evening meal to the Homeless Shelter.The fundraising committee will meet after worship on Sunday.

Plains Church PresbyPlains Presbyterian Church, 326 Plains Church Road, announces a change in worship service time. Sunday worship services will be held at 10 a.m. until Sept. 7 when the service will be held at 11 a.m.

Saint Andrews United PresbyterianSaint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., needs dessert makers because the church will supply dessert for Meals on Wheels in July. St. Peter's EpiscopalSt. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., announces that Bishop Henry Scriven will be at the church to install Father Geary as Priest in Charge Sunday.Those interested in administering healing oil or delivering the Eucharist to the sick and shut-ins, are asked to call the church office to volunteer.

Summit Presbyterian On Sunday, Summit Presbyterian Church will be holding its monthly communion service at 9:30 a.m. Coffee hour will follow the worship service at 10:30 a.m. On Tuesday, the Deacons will meet at 6 p.m., and session will meet at 7 p.m.The junior high youth is on a mission trip at the Pittsburgh Project this week.Summit Church is located on the corner of Saxonburg Road and Caldwell Drive, just a few miles south of Butler. Trinity LutheranTrinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will have a men's breakfast and Bible study at 8 a.m. Saturday.The assistant to the bishop of the Southwestern PA Synod, the Rev. Sara Lee-Faulkner, will preach at all services this weekend. At the 11 a.m. Sunday service, she will install Diane Petrak as an Aaron's Minister for the synod.In July, WELCA will collect crackers, prepared sauces, peanut butter and jelly for its outreach program for the Women's Shelter for Beaver County. A collection box is in the narthex.The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. July 10 at the church. Volunteers are needed to staff the drive and to provide cookies for the donors.
