Geraldine G. Wiest, 88, of Lawrence Park died Monday at Twinbrook Medical Center in Erie.

Born Dec. 27, 1919, in Butler, she was the daughter of Joseph and Loretta Gardner.

Geraldine was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, bowling and bingo. She was a member of the Elderberries in Lawrence Park and the East Erie Moose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Wiest; her four children, Robert, Alfred and Richard Wiest and Geraldine Woolstrum; and many brothers and sisters, including her brother George Gardner, who she raised.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Wiest of Lawrence Park; her son-in-law, Kenneth Woolstrum of Dunkirk, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Watt and Emma Hartle, both of Butler; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

<B>WIEST</B> — Friends of Geraldine Wiest, who died Monday, May 26, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at <B>DUSCKAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., EAST</B>, 2607 Buffalo Road, Erie. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday and will be conducted by the Rev. Keith Cutshall of Lawrence Park United Methodist Church.
