Elda Margueritte Wilson
Elda Margueritte Wilson, 91, of Slippery Rock died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Born July 15, 1916, in Strobleton, Pa., she was a daughter of Henry Erwin Bickel and Corona R. Schmid Bickel.
She married Merle Alvin Wilson on Sept. 3, 1936. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1990.
She was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith.
She was an artist who enjoyed oil painting and focused on painting landscapes and wildlife. She was a seamstress and loved crocheting, knitting, quilting, gardening, planting flowers and cooking. As a younger woman, she enjoyed hunting.
She is survived by a son, Ford Thomas Wilson of Slippery Rock; a sister, Ruth Bowen of Tylersburg, Pa.; a brother, George Henry Bickel of Seneca, Pa.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joan Carol Dwyer; a grandson, Steven; a sister, Louise Ardelle Regal; and a brother, Rosco Duyane Bickel.
<B>WILSON</B> — Friends of Elda Margueritte Wilson, who died Sunday, May 25, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Richendrfer, pastor of the Grace Tabernacle Assembly of God in Slippery Rock, officiating. Interment will be in West Liberty Cemetery.
