Federal employees raise record donations
We would like to congratulate the employees of the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center for raising $37,480, and the employees of OPM - FISD for raising $47,070 the 2007 Combined Federal Campaign. These represent the largest CFC Campaign increases for the year. The United Way of Butler County manages the CFC for a seven county area in Western PA. The campaign recognized a 31% increase, topping out at $112,632, thanks to increased contributions from Federal employees in Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango Counties.
The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is similar to the operations of the United Way. However, it is the only national authorized workplace giving drive of employees in the Federal workplace for charitable organizations. This single campaign is one of the most cost-efficient fundraising methods available. It succeeds because volunteers from the Federal workforce combine their resources for one coordinated appeal.
