Mabel A. Gray Steele

Mabel A. Gray Steele, 81, of West Old Route 422, Butler, died at 3 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 21, 1926, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the Audley Gray and Eva Montgomery.

Mrs. Steele was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in her church, and with the Slippery Rock Baptist Youth Camp.

Mrs. Steele is survived by her two sons, Richard K. Steele of Butler and the Rev. Karl G. Steele of Orviston, Pa.; two daughters, Margaret E. Steele of Butler and Mrs. Mark E. (Mary) Kuhn of Columbus, Ohio; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Steele, who died Feb. 4, 1991. She also was preceded by her parents and a sister.

<B>STEELE</B> — Friends of Mabel A. Gray Steele, who died Friday, May 16, 2008, will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St.Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her son, the Rev. Karl G. Steele, and the Rev. David Maitland of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, R.D. 3, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
