Marjorie 'Marge' Connell
Marjorie "Marge" May Connell, 69, of Worth Township died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian after an extended illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1938, in Beaver County, she was the daughter of the late Philip Addison Cory and the late Jessie LaFay Higley Cory.
She had worked for the federal government in the Office of Personnel Management in Boyers. Prior to that, she worked in the cafeteria at Slippery Rock Middle School for more than 10 years.
She was a member of the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church in Worth Township.
She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1956.
She was a former member of the Slippery Rock Bowling League and the Sweet Adeline's in Grove City.
She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Allyn Connell, whom she married Nov. 8, 1957; a daughter, Doris J. Connell and her fiancée, James Wright, of Edison, N.J.; two sons, Russell A. Connell and his wife, Marcia, of Slippery Rock and Randall L. Connell and his wife, Anna, of Plain Grove; and a brother, Philip T. Cory and his wife, JoAnn, of Meadville. Also surviving are a step-granddaughter and two step great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Connell, and a brother, James Cory.
<B>CONNELL</B>— Friends of Marjorie May Connell, who died Thursday, May 8, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark L. Fraley, CLP, pastor of the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
