NEW YORK — Mauricia Grant filed a lawsuit against NASCAR for $225 million Tuesday, alleging racial and sexual discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination from her job as a racing official.

The 32-year-old Grant, who is black, worked as a technical inspector responsible for certifying cars in NASCAR's second-tier Nationwide Series from January 2005 until her termination.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, lists 23 specific incidents of alleged sexual harassment and 34 specific incidents of alleged racial and gender discrimination beginning when she was hired in January 2005 through her October 2007 firing.

TORONTO — Ron Wilson was introduced as the new coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs Tuesday, less than a month after he was fired by the San Jose Sharks.The 53-year-old Wilson appeared at a news conference at Toronto's Air Canada Centre after signing a four-year deal.Wilson was fired May 12 by San Jose after the Sharks lost to the Dallas Stars in the second round of the NHL playoffs. He succeeds Paul Maurice, who was fired by Toronto last month after missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Detroit Pistons chose not to look far for their next leader. Former Pistons role player and assistant Michael Curry was introduced Tuesday as the team's new coach.The 39-year-old first-time head coach takes over for Flip Saunders, who was fired last week after leading Detroit to losses in the NBA Eastern Conference finals the past three seasons. The Pistons and Curry agreed on a three-year deal worth $2.5 million a season. The team holds an option for a fourth season.
