Lois Marcella Bodkin
Lois Marcella Bodkin, 95, of Mentor, Ohio, formerly of Clintonville and of Dunedin, Fla., died Sunday at the Ivy House Nursing Home, Painesville, Ohio, after a brief illness.
Born March 21, 1913, in Clintonville, she was the daughter of Clarence and Grace Stayton Anderson.
Mrs. Bodkin graduated from the Clintonville schools and attended Slippery Rock Normal School. She taught elementary school in Pennsylvania and Ohio and also raised a family.
She was a lifetime member and a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of The American Revolution.
She enjoyed gardening and loved traveling with friends. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Surviving are three sons, Richard J. Bodkin (Frances) of Nampa, Idaho, David A. Bodkin of Mentor and Thomas A. Bodkin (Tina) of Butler; a daughter, Carol A. Borlin (Louis) of Mentor; and three grandchildren, Catherine and Kelly Bodkin, both of Boise, Idaho, and Kyle M. Bodkin of Butler.
Her husband, Mason J. Bodkin, whom she married Aug. 12, 1936, died June 8, 1995. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, and a sister, Malissa McFadden.
<B>BODKIN</B> — Friends of Lois Marcella Bodkin, who died Sunday, May 4, 2008, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>McKinley Funeral Home</B>, Clintonville, where services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.
