JACKSON TWP— Seneca Valley girls lacrosse seniors Lindsay Flavion and Meredith Vicente were named WPIALSection 1 and Team 2 all-stars.

Flavion plays offense while Vicente is a defender. Junior midfielder Shannon Quail and junior goalie Katy Sterling are Section 1 all-stars as well.

Allison Fisher, a senior, was named a 2008 academic all-American.

SLIPPERY ROCK— Slippery Rock University sophomore baseball player Matt Adams was named to the third team of the Daktronics Inc. all-America squad by vote of NCAADivision IIsports information directors.Adams hit .438 with nine homers and 44 RBI, leading The Rock in all three categories. He also had a .708 slugging percentage and .516 on-base percentage.
