John J. "Jack" Nist

John J. "Jack" Nist, 78, of Adams Township died Friday evening at his residence.

He was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 28, 1929. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Nist was a supervisor for North Side Packing Company and worked as a security officer for Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community in Cranberry Township.

He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars, where he sang in the choir. He also sang in the choir at St. Boniface Church in Pittsburgh and with the Evans City Choir.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret J. Lamm Nist, whom he married Aug. 17, 1985; two sons, John and David Nist; two stepdaughters, Margaret Fierst of Pittsburgh and Barbara Auer Callahan and her husband, Edward, of Greensburg; a sister, Dolores Nist of Gibsonia; two brothers, Louis Nist and his wife, Esther, and Joseph Nist, all of Shaler Township; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

<B>NIST</B> — Friends of John J. "Jack"Nist, who died Friday, May 30, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at <B>the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home,</B> 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars.
