Burkett

Albert E. Burkett, 81, of Valencia, formerly Allison Park, died Saturday in the comfort of his home.

Born on Jan. 11, 1927, in Pittsburgh, he was son of Albert E. and Marie Anderson Burkett.

He was a beloved husband for 53 years of Audrey J. Newell Burkett, whom he married on Sept. 18, 1954; loving father of Michele Efrain Rivera of Rochester, N.Y., Renee Burkett of Germantown, Md., and Mark (Bonnie) Burkett of Cranberry Township; dear grandfather of Elena and Juan-Carlos Rivera, Rebecca Schneider, and Brian Wahl.

A Navy veteran of World War II and of Korea, he was a telecommunications engineer with Equitable Resources for years.

He was a devoted and active member with the Northway Christian Community in Wexford where he traveled on short term mission trips to Mexico, Scotland, England, and Thailand.

Burkett, who died Saturday, April 26, 2008, will welcome friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Northway Christian Community with the Rev.
