Rock's Mueller gets 3rd at NCAA
Slippery Rock University's Brad Mueller finished third in Saturday's 100-meter dash finals at the NCAA Division IInational championships in Walnut, Calif. with a school-record time of 10.29 seconds.
Mueller, a graduate of Mars High School who is the reigning indoor 60-meter national champion, finished just behind champion Dennis Boone of St. Augustine's (10.21) and Kawayne Fisher of Lincoln.
Also on the men's side, Pat Reagan placed 10th in the 5,000 (14:40.79) and Nate Hardic was 13th in the javelin (192-9).
Women's TrackAlso at the national championships, Rock freshman Whitney Hendershot placed fourth in the women's high jump with a leap of 5-8, 1Z\v inches behind her other three competitors.She was the third Rock female to earn all-American status this outdoor season, joining Jennifer Hansen (third, pole vault) and Nicole Blaesser (eighth, 10,000).
