Calvin J. Miller Sr.
Calvin J. Miller Sr., 82, of Richland Township died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 3, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Frederick and Helen Miller.
Mr. Miller had a deep love for his family, friends and especially music. He sang in his church choir.
He proudly served his country during World War II in the Army in Central Burma, where he earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star.
He was a member of the Lather's Local Union 33 and the Local 165 J. Carpenter's Union while working with Easley and Rivers.
He was the beloved husband for 61 years of Virginia A. Ricca Miller, who he married on June 8, 1946. She survives.
Mr. Miller was also the loving father of Ronald Miller of Mount Washington, Gemma (Ralph) Allen of Oregon, Rosanne Boyd of Arkansas, Calvin J. Miller Jr. of Valencia, Jeffrey Miller of Mt. Washington, Christopher (Diane) Miller of Wilkins Township and Stephanie Miller of Richland Township; the brother of Helen Ewen of Overbrook; and the loving grandfather of Barkley and Pierce Boyd and Veronica and Maria Miller, all of whom survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Kenny Miller.
