Ruth Louise Bowser

Ruth Louise McHaddon Bowser, 73, of Kittanning died Friday at ACMH Hospital, Kittanning, after battling Parkinson disease for more than 20 years.

She was born Nov. 5, 1934, in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, to Palmer and Flora Booher McHaddon.

Mrs. Bowser was a member of Center Hill Church of the Brethren, where she was a deacon emeritus and held several Sunday school and church offices.

She formerly was an office clerk at PPG Optical Department for three years and was a sales clerk with Karp's Jewelry for 19 years.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She was proud of her Christmas tree, which held many ornaments she collected throughout the years.

Surviving are her husband, Jay E. Bowser, who she married June 14, 1955; three daughters, Joetta Gibson and her husband, Clyde, of North Huntingdon, Mary Lou Rusbarsky of Castle Shannon and Elaine Mazza and her husband, Ronald, of North Hills; and two sisters, Martha Waltho of West Kittanning and Stella Barker and her husband, Marlin, of North Buffalo.

She was preceded in death by a twin infant daughter, Melissa Bowser; three brothers, Nason, Robert and Junior Palmer McHaddon; and an infant sister, Wilda Pearl McHaddon.

<B>BOWSER </B>— Friends of Ruth Louise McHaddon Bowser, who died Friday, April 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>BAUER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Visitation also will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Center Hill Church of the Brethren, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Wes Berkebile officiating.
