Butler Church of the NazareneGordon Thompson and Gwen Atkinson will present special music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service at the Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68. Christ Community U.M.Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will send three church members to Peru for mission work with an orphanage and medical clinic with Child Reach Ministries. Child Reach has asked church members to donate the medicines such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen, clothing for children and babies, receiving blankets, toiletry items and school supplies.Sunday is "Peace with Justice Sunday." A special offering will be taken to help the United Methodist Church address world justice issues.The church needs caring and qualified adult nursery workers during the evening. Community LifeCommunity Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School. Covenant PresbyCovenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will recognize the choir Sunday. Beverly Antis and the Covenant Choir will be honored during 11 a.m. worship and a reception hosted by the Worship and Music Committee will follow worship. Mt. Chestnut PresbySunday will be the last day of Sunday School classes for Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422, for summer break. The church will honor Sunday school teachers in both worship services.
