For the first time in the four-year history of the program, the A-C Valley softball team is playoff-bound.

A four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning led the Falcons to a dramatic 10-9 win over Moniteau and clinched the team a spot in the upcoming District 9 Class A tournament.

"They were going crazy," said A-C Valley coach Lane Larimore. "There were a lot of tears in the dugout. Alot of happy tears. They knew what was at stake in this game."

A-C Valley (7-7) led 6-5 heading into the top of the seventh inning and had two outs and two strikes on a Warriors' batter before disaster struck.

Moniteau put four two-out runs on the board to take a 9-6 lead.

But A-C Valley was undaunted. Kaylin Strauser singled home pinch runners Kelsey Viertel and Kristen Rose with the winning runs to send the Falcons' dugout into celebration.

Elsewhere:

• Morgan Robinson struck out six and walked just one in a four-hitter as Slippery Rock downed Sharon 3-2.

• Sam Bly homered and doubled and Brandi Dunkle tripled and singled as KarnsCity edged Redbank Valley 8-7.
