4:01 a.m. Saturday — Several people were cited for underage drinking after police were called for a reported fight in the 200 block of North Church Street.Charged are Melissa Oerchio, 19, and Kelcy Vogel, 19, both of Evans City; Aubree Rogers, 19, of Butler; Lauren Lepinsky, 19, of Pittsburgh; a 17-year-old boy from Ellwood City, Lawrence County; a 15-year-old boy from Cranberry Township; and a 15-year-old boy from Harmony.Apolice report said that Brandon Croyle, 21, of Zelienople, who also was in the area, was arrested on a previously issued warrant.
11:36 a.m. Monday — Asuspected burglar was caught in the act after breaking into a Gregden Road home.Officers, responding to an automatic burglar alarm, found Shane G. Paczek, 19, of Renfrew in the house. The suspect's car was also found parked nearby.Police arrested Paczek and charged him with burglary, trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.Meanwhile, asearch of the defendant's car also turned up a .25-caliber pistol that had its serial and manufacturer's numbers filed off. Police filed an additional firearms violation against Paczek.The defendant remains in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail.8:05 a.m. Sunday — Police cited Robert Wienand, 32, of Butler for trespassing and disorderly conduct after he returned to Butler Memorial Hospital despite being informed Friday that he was not allowed on the property.4:05 a.m. Sunday — Two brothers, Burnie Burnell, 38, of Ketchum, Idaho, and John Burnell, 30, of Brownsville, Texas, were cited in connection with a disturbance on the third floor of the Fairfield Inn at the top of North Main Street hill. Both men pleaded guilty to harassment, and were fined.2:03 a.m. Saturday — James O'Donnell, 60, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Acre Avenue. Police said O'Donnell also faces charges for driving on the wrong side of the road and making an illegal turn.2:30 p.m. Friday — Avehicle driven by Sean George, 17, of Butler struck the rear of another vehicle, driven by Isaiah Stevenson, 73, of Butler, on New Castle Road near Alameda Park Road.The collision forced Stevenson's vehicle into another vehicle that was driven by Donald Powell, 51, of Butler. Police said George was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Friday — Several hand tools were reported stolen in a burglary at 265 Kittanning St. The break-in occurred sometime during the past week.
Monday — Several pieces of jewelry were stolen between April 18 and Monday in a burglary at the Moran Road home of Lori A. Young in Summit Township.Sunday — An unknown would-be burglar failed after trying to force his way into the Verndale Drive home of John M. Smith in Clearfield Township. The attempted break-in occurred between Wednesday and Sunday.Thursday — An unspecified amount of scrap metal was stolen between April 19 and Thursday from 131 AppleRoad in Fairview Township. Paul Dorr of Petrolia owns the stolen property.April 24 — A bullet fired by an unknown gunman went through a camper/trailer at the Slippery Rock Campground in Worth Township.No one was in the camper, owned by Christine Miller of Slippery Rock, and no injuries were reported in the shooting, which occurred between Nov. 25 and April 24.Police said the .22-caliber slug became lodged in a bedroom window sill of the camper.
