Elizabeth F. Laughlin
Elizabeth F. Laughlin, 96, of Lisbon, Ohio, died peacefully in the early morning hours on Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a long illness.
Born Oct. 14, 1911, in Elkrun Township, she was a daughter of James and Anna Sultner Freeman and had lived in the Lisbon area her entire life.
A graduate of Kent State University, she worked 37 years as a school teacher, having taught in the Furnace one-room schoolhouse, Elkton School and retired from the Salem Public School system.
She was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a past noble grand of the Rebekah's and was a member of Coterie.
Mrs. Laughlin loved to quilt and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sylvia Wallace of Atlantic, Pa.; grandchildren, Michael Polack of Harmony, Gary Wallace of Meadville, Kimberly House of Stafford, Va., and Libby Angott of Queen Creek, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert F. Laughlin, who she married Jan. 16, 1935, died April 23, 1977. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Freeman, and a sister, Jane Campanelli.
<B>LAUGHLIN</B> — Friends of Elizabeth F. Laughlin, who died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home</B>, 215 W. Lincoln Way, Lisbon, Ohio. Services will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Wilds officiating.
