PITTSBURGH — Isaac Hayes, who is a Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer and musician, is scheduled to perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. June 26 at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave.

Tickets range from $21.50 to $112.50. Proceeds from the concert benefit are distributed among participating nonprofit partners. The symphony donates its services and secures corporate sponsors to underwrite costs of production and guest artists.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Philatelic Society will sponsor the annual Butlerpex, a stamp exhibit and sale, on May 9 and 10 at Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.Dealers from Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania will be there. SLIPPERY ROCK — The arrival of springtime will be heralded with a wildflower walk at 2 p.m. May 11 at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528 near the intersection of Routes 8 and 173.The Jennings staff will discuss the history, folklore and uses of the season's first blooms.Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. AVELLA — The grand reopening of the Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Museum of Rural Life will take place May 10 at the site, 401 Meadowcroft Road.The site was closed for more than a year due to construction of a new roof for the rockshelter, the earliest site of human habitation in North America. The new enclosure for the 16,000-year-old shelter will help preserve the world-renowned archeological site.

PITTSBURGH — The National Aviary, 700 Arch St., will mark International Migratory Bird Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. WEST MIFFLIN — Kennywood amusement park will open for the season at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, featuring the all-new Ghostwood Estate, beginning at 11 a.m. Closing time will be based on the weather and crowd size. \Secret agents "in-training" can test their skills at BreakOut, an interactive laser experience. Guests visiting on opening day and beyond will find new food items, including the U-Do-It Slush Factory, as well as live entertainment.Kennywood's FunDay price is $32; Seniors age 55 and older pay $15, and children 46 inches and under pay $19.
