PITTSBURGH — Pitt basketball coach Jamie Dixon has named Tom Herrion associate head coach of the men's basketball team.

Dixon says Herrion has helped Pitt in recruiting, scouting and player development since he was hired as an assistant coach in May 2007.

Herrion was head coach at the College of Charleston where he compiled an 80-36 record over four seasons before coming to Pitt. He previously was an assistant at Virginia, Providence and Merrimack.
