3:12 a.m. today — An early morning traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Mercer County man wanted on warrants in three states.Side Raheem McCurdy, 26, of Farrell, a passenger in the car pulled over on South Cliff Street, was nabbed when police learned he was wanted on four warrants — two in Mercer County, one in Trumbull County, Ohio; and one in Detroit.McCurdy was placed in a holding cell at the police station on the warrants to await arraignment on a charge of fugitive from justice.4:34 p.m. Monday — Geran Koziar, 20, of Butler Township is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Lisa M. Campbell, 20, during a domestic dispute at her North Elm Street home. Police said Koziar is charged with simple assault.9:15 a.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Patricia Adams, 68, of Rochester, Beaver County, and J.R. Vernon, age unknown, of Clearfield Township collided on Center Avenue near East Wayne Street. Apassenger in Vernon's car, Danna Vernon, 75, of Clearfield Township, suffered unknown injuries.2:11 a.m. Saturday — Dorothy Hesky, 62, of Center Township was arrested for driving under the influence on Lincoln Avenue.
1:45 a.m. today — Police chased and caught two boys who escaped from Summit Academy juvenile detention facility about 10 p.m. Monday.Buffalo Township police captured one of the boys on Park Drive. State police caught the other boy nearby on Route 356, just north of the Giant Eagle. Both youths were turned over to authorities at the Summit Township detention center.4 a.m. Saturday — A1992 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from a Goldscheitter Road home. The car was recovered at 7 a.m. in New Kensington, Westmoreland County.Police continue to investigate the theft of the car, as well as the apparently related theft of a wallet about 4 a.m. from a vehicle on Goldscheitter Road. Two credit cards taken from the wallet were later used to buy items at two convenience stores in the township.1:20 a.m. April 21 — William Edward Filer, no age given, of Freeport was arrested for driving under the influence on Ekastown Road in front of the post office. Police said Filer's blood-alcohol level was 0.344 percent; a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.3:29 a.m. April 19 — Michael Gallo, no age given, of Plum, Allegheny County, was arrested for driving under the influence at Route 356 and Sarver Road.Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Police filed theft-related charges against Madalyn Somple, 19, of Portersville stemming from a purse stolen April 6 at Old Plank Estates. Somple is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.10:18 a.m. Saturday — Apickup truck driven by Erika Marie Mohn, 17, of Clearfield Township and a car driven by Ruth Alice Stitt, 73, of Penn Township collided at Highland Avenue and Meridian Road. Police said Mohn was cited for a stop sign violation.Saturday — An unknown would-be burglar tried unsuccessfully to pry open the rear basement door of a Gredsden Road home. The attempted burglary occurred between Wednesday and Saturday.Thursday — Twobottles of prescription painkillers — OxyContin and Percocet — were stolen in a burglary at an Evans City Road home. A safe with an undisclosed amount of money also was taken.
Sunday — An unknown vandal spray-painted an obscene picture on the outside of an office building on Route 38 in Concord Township. Police did not describe the picture that was painted between 4:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday.Friday — Someone between 6 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday cut a trampoline at the Reibold home of Jennifer Feil in Forward Township. Damage was estimated at $200.
April 15 — An undisclosed amount of auto parts was stolen April 14 or 15 from Sligo Auto Salvage on Route 68 in Toby Township.1:46 a.m. April 11 — Robert Schugg, 63, of Emlenton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 58 in Foxburg.
9 p.m. Sunday — A motorist wanted for an undisclosed traffic violation got out of his vehicle and ran away from a pursuing trooper near the North Pointe Industrial Park on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.The suspect, who police did not identify, meanwhile, apparently failed to put his vehicle in park; the vehicle drifted into the police car that was parked behind it, causing minor damage to the cruiser.Police said the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.6 a.m. Sunday — Ruth Bowser reported that someone stole a red, 22-inch lawnmower from the backyard of her Clay Street home in Pine Township. The mower, which has two large rear wheels, is valued at $109.7:30 p.m. Saturday — An unknown driver in an unidentified green sport utility vehicle struck a stone wall along Ford City Road about one-quarter mile from McVille Road in South Buffalo Township, and drove away after the crash.Police believe the hit-and-run vehicle is a Ford Explorer or Jeep Cherokee. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
