The Rev. Howard Hartzell, 83, of Sewickley died at 6:25 p.m. Friday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born Nov. 14, 1924, he was the son of Amos and Carrie Hartzell.

He served the Lord at the Zion Full Gospel Church for more than 50 years.

During World War II, he served in the Navy.

Rev. Hartzell is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vera Fehl Hartzell, formerly of Butler; and these children, Janna Sullivan and Greg of North Carolina, Joanna Goodwin and Phillip of Texas and John Hartzell and Jaylene Hartzell of Sewickley; and grandsons, Connor Sullivan and Richard Goodwin.

<B>Hartzell</B> — Friends of the Rev. Howard Hartzell, who died Friday, March 21, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Copeland Funeral Home</B>, Sewickley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Del Grim presiding.
