Ola E. Vensel

Ola E. Vensel, 92, formerly of Meridian, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday at the Ohesson Manor in Lewistown.

Born in Butler on Feb. 9, 1916, she was a daughter of W. Frank Cooper and Angeline Brown.

She was an alumna of Grove City College and retired as a teacher at the Northwest Elementary School in Butler Township. She was a former member of PSEA and the NEA.

Mrs. Vensel was a former member of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church.

She was an avid gardener and belonged to the Buttercup Garden Cup.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha A. Wysocki of Burnham, Pa.; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Gertie Mae Service of Gallatin, Tenn.; and three nieces.

Her husband, W. Frank Vensel, died Feb. 17, 1972. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a son.

<B>VESSEL </B>— Friends of Ola E. Vensel, who died Monday, March 24, 2008, will be received from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stanley Reap, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in York, officiating.
