Midnight Friday — William H. Anderson, 34, of Butler was arrested on a theft warrant from the city of Butler and a warrant from the Butler County Sheriff's Office after he was seen walking past the police station on New Castle Street. He is in Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. Arrested during the same incident were Robert Edward Turner, 39, of Butler, on a warrant from state police and Raymond John Ufheil, 40, for providing false identification to law enforcement and a warrant out of Allegheny County.11 p.m. Thursday — William Eugene Schmidt Jr., 54, was charged with criminal trespass and public drunkenness after he was found in a vacant apartment at 131 Morton Ave. He is in Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.
8:30 a.m. Friday — Someone stole a maroon 1998 Dodge Avenger coupe with Pennsylvania registration EGM6257, parked at 2382 Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township and belonging to Jeffrey Kihn, 50, of North Washington. The theft occurred between 11:15 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday. Police ask that anyone with information call 724-284-8100.April 3 — Someone broke a window and entered the Beacon Light Hotel in Forward Township. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.March — William James Simpson, 21, of Butler was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after he used a vehicle belonging to Tanya Lynn Hosak, 20, of Butler several times between February and March and damaged it beyond the vehicle's value.
9:08 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Charles R. Sennett, 61, of Polk, Venango County, crashed along Route 965 near Route 173 in Worth Township. Sennett was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. He was cited for violating the law for driving on roads laned for traffic.6:10 a.m. April 18 — Someone kicked in the back door of Wolfcreek Custom Hardwoods on Scrubgrass Road in Jackson Center and stole numerous tools between 9:15 p.m. April 17 and 6:10 a.m. April 18. Anyone with information should call police at 724-662-6162.11:11 a.m. April 16 — Brent Daniel Sumner of Grove City was arrested along Route 58 in Findley Township on warrants out of Trumbull County, Ohio.
7:36 p.m. Thursday — Gary James Marple, 31, of Kittanning was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.
8:16 p.m. April 20 — An SUV driven by David L. Courson, 62, of Ellwood City crashed into a wall along Route 488 in Perry Township. Courson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
