Marzolf

Norbert J. Marzolf, 78, of 154 Family Lane died Wednesday morning at his home after a yearlong illness.

Born in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, Aug. 25, 1929, he was a son of Harry E. and Agnes L. Hubstenberger Marzolf.

He was a pipe fitter and retired in March 1992 as a foreman at the Electromelt Corp. in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh after 44 years.

Mr. Marzolf, an active hunter and outdoor sportsman, enjoyed raising and training hunting dogs, especially beagles and coonhounds, and was a member of the National Redbone Coonhound Association and the National Rifle Association.

During the Korean War, he was a master sergeant in the Army. He was a member of the Millvale VFW Post 118.

He had attended the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Carbon Center.

Surviving are his wife, Janet E. Rodgers Marzolf, whom he married Feb. 2, 1952; three sons, Scott J. Marzolf and his wife, Tricia, of Cypress, Calif., and Gary P. and Jason R. Marzolf, both of Chicora; a daughter, Stacy L. Marzolf of Butler; two brothers, Howard J. Marzolf of Boyers and Harry E. Marzolf Jr. of Shaler Township; and five grandchildren, Alisha, Ian and Jordyn Marzolf and Lauren and Dylan Feleciano.

Marzolf, who died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, officiating.
