Joseph Frank Brozda
Joseph Frank Brozda, 83, of Wilkinsburg died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1925, in Horni Lomna, Czech Republic, he was the son of George Brozda and Jana (Joanne) Jopkova.
He was a member of St. James Church in Pittsburgh.
He was a retired union master carpenter and cabinet maker, a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 165.
Mr. Brozda was married to Elizabeth Jane Brozda on May 22, 1954. She preceded him in death on Oct. 29.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph and Bridget Brozda, John and Donna Brozda, and Paul Brozda; five daughters, Elizabeth Alexander, Mary Ann and Mac Grant, Joanne and Richard Pugliese, Theresa and Enrico Clendenning, and Louise and Jim Pyles; 18 grandchildren, Nichoele Hall, Rachelle Brozda, Aimee Davis, Sarah Brozda, Adam Brozda, Stephanie Brozda, Christopher Alexander, Joseph Fazio, Blaine Fazio, Christa Holt, Suzanna Pugliese, Nathaniel Pugliese, Johanna Clendenning, Christian Clendenning, Grace Clendenning, Erika Clendenning, Morgan Pyles, and James Pyles; and four great-grandchildren, Bredin Fazio, Meykah Hall, Niyah Hall and Eli Davis.
He is survived by a sister, Louise, and her husband, Ludvik Gomola; a brother, Paul, and his wife, Anna Brozdova; a sister-in-law, Marie Brozdova; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Janina Szkanderova; three sisters, and three brothers.
<B>BROZDA</B>— Friends of Joseph Frank Brozda, who died Sunday, March 16, 2008, were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial followed in North Side Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.
