Hitchcock

Stephen Wayne Hitchcock of Washington, D.C., died Thursday.

He was born March 10, 1945, in Leesburg, Va.

He served in the Army as a military police officer in Korea, Vietnam and the Dominican Republic.

After leaving the service, he taught moderately to severely developmentally and emotionally disturbed children. During his 33 years working with these children and their parents, he spent 23 years as founding member and president of the Board of the Frost School and Counseling Center in Rockville, Md. He helped design, incorporate, develop and administer the curriculum of the Frost School.

Stephen was highly respected by his colleagues as an extremely bright individual, who demonstrated a sincere commitment to education, its values and ethics.

Stephen was planning on retiring to Prospect to live with his father and sister, Doris Lannen, after his surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his father; he is survived by twin sisters, Donna Johnson and Doris Lannen, both of Prospect; a brother, Richard Johnson of Washington, D.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
