Samuel LoPinto Ray, 78, of North Huntington, whose soul sailed out to sea on its way to Heaven, died Sunday.

Born May 2, 1929, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of August and Josephine LoPinto Ray.

Left to mourn and remember this gentle, loving man and his family are his wife, Bertha M. Woodside Ray; three children, Richard Michael Ray of North Huntingdon, Gary (Kathy) Ray of Sarver and Nancy Ann (Ron) Jandrokovic of Ravenna, Ohio; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Rebecca Ray; a brother, Michael Ray; and nephews Kenneth and Glen Ray and their families of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anthony and Mary Lou Ray; and a sister-in-law, Ruthie Ray.
