George R. Walker
George R. Walker, 92, of Chicora, formerly of Russellton, died Monday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.
Born Feb. 21, 1916, in New Port, Tenn., he was the son of George William and Ellen Raulston Walker.
Before retiring, he was a coal miner at the Indianola and Russellton mines for 47 years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in New Kensington and the Tyrian Lodge 644 of New Kensington. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, golfing and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Sally (Roger) McJunkin of Chicora; two granddaughters, Mary Beth (John) Schwartz of Rockhill, S.C. and Kelly Byfield of Hillsboro, N.H.; a great-granddaughter, Delaney Byfield; and a sister, Willa Falcettoni of Glenshaw.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nathel Bufington Walker; four brothers; and three sisters.
