Betty A. Smith
Betty A. Smith, 70, of Chicora died at 12:43 a.m. Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center after an illness.
Born in Butler, Sept. 19, 1937, she was the daughter of Owen J. and Florence Ball McDevitt.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Chicora and the Sing Hosanna Choir of Butler.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. and she loved her bulldog, Hooch.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol D. Kiser and her husband, Karl, of West Sunbury and Bonnie Sue McCollough and her husband, Bernard, of East Butler; two sons, Gregory A. Smith of Chicora and Thomas L. Smith of Petrolia; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three brothers, William L. McDevitt of Salina, Kan., Paul McDevitt of Karns City and Robert McDevitt of Strattanville; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband of 51 years, David C. Smith, died Feb. 22, 1997.
<B>SMITH </B>— Friends of Betty A. Smith, who died Saturday, March 15, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Dennis Hindman Sr., S.A.M., of the Rider Lutheran Church, West Sunbury, officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Chicora.
