Clarence S. 'Cutty' Conaway
Clarence S. "Cutty" Conaway, 76, of South Buffalo Township died at 8:30 a.m. Friday peacefully at his home.
Born July 5, 1931, in New Bethlehem, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Mary Ethel (Patrick) Conaway.
He was a member of the Rogers Chapel United Methodist Church, South Buffalo. He was a crane operator at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge, for 42 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Kit-Han-ee Rock and Gem Club.
He enjoyed gambling, making jewelry, collecting gemstones, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean (Hartman) Conaway; two sons, Barry (Pam) Conaway of South Buffalo Township, and Michael (Renee) Conaway of Kittanning; a daughter, Sylvia (John) Stewart of Kittanning Township; a sister, Sarah Bowser of Taylor Mill, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Eric, Jeff, Greg, Brett, and Brenna Conaway, and Melanie Moore, Megan Rehrer, and Philip Stewart; and 10 great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Conaway Jr. and Charles Conaway.
