I did not read Angela's initial post as an attack on teachers but as a commentary on the demise of communication between parent and teacher, which ultimately is costing her son his educational success.

Today most of us our faced with too many responsibilities on the job and at home therefore I will not defend or defame parents or teachers in this post. However there has to be a way in which parents and teachers, those who are willing to work together for the child's sake, be given the opportunity to do so.

Today we have the technology to assist us in rapid

communication, which we can access as we have the time ­ the computter. Perhaps the school district can set up individual student accounts that only teachers and parents can access to post and review weekly grades and progress, with the understanding if a grade is less than a "C" the teacher will post a comment stating why they believe the student received the grade.

If universities can post grades and comments to adult students on computers across this country I do not see why K-12 cannot do so for parents.
