Kremin

Margaret Marie Shaffer Kremin, 88, of West Deer Township, Allegheny County, died Monday morning at her daughter's home in Middlesex Township.

Born in Pittsburgh, May 2, 1919, she was the daughter of Chester J. and Marie M. Komosa Shaffer.

She had attended St. Wendlenians Schools.

Mrs. Kremin devoted more than 18 years to the care of needy children. She worked closely through both the Holy Catholic Family and Child Youth Services, often participating in counseling and group therapy to gain a better insight into the hearts and minds of the many children to whom she opened her home. She tirelessly assumed the role of "mother" to many children throughout her adult years.

She was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol Kane of Valencia; three sons, Vincent J. Kremin and his wife, Janice, of Carrabassett Valley, Maine, Thomas C. Kremin of Valencia and Gary M. Kremin of Running Springs, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Shaffer Mauck of Bridgeport, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Also, she will be remembered fondly by Mary MaKoby of Indianola, Allegheny County, Margaret Nock Raysor and Deborah Nock DeChancie, both of Pittsburgh, and John Hall of Mobile, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Kremin, who died Feb. 27, 1985; a brother, Chester Shaffer Jr.; and a sister, Helen Shaffer Ludwik.

McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Route 8, Glade Mills, with the Rev.
