Area theaters conducting auditions for upcoming shows include the Comtra Theatre in Cranberry Township and the New Castle Playhouse.

The Comtra Theatre, Route 19, will hold auditions for the following shows:

• "Seussical," 2:30 to 5 p.m. April 26 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 27. Show dates are June 20 to July 5.

• "Guys and Dolls," 2:30 to 5 p.m. May 10 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 11. Show dates are July 11 to 26.

• "Leader of the Pack," 2:30 to 5 p.m. June 7 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 8. Show dates to be announced.

• "Damn Yankees," 2:30 to 5 p.m. June 21 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 22. Show dates are Aug. 22 to Sept. 6.

At the New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave., auditions for the musical "South Pacific" are planned for 6 to 8 p.m. April 24 and 10 a.m. to noon April 26. Show dates are July 18 to Aug. 3.

The Grove City Theatre Arts Guild will hold auditions for a nonmusical version of "Beauty and the Beast" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 17 at East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St., Grove City. Performance date is June 7 during the Strawberry Days festival. Children between the ages of 8 and 12 may audition.
