Students recognized for anti-pollution posters
Emily Srock, second place
Tera Parsons, a sixth-grade student at Meridian Elementary School, won a poster contest promoting waterway pollution prevention.
She won $30 and will be honored at a future city council meeting with Mayor Maggie Stock.
Others who were recognized were Emily Srock, second place, and Hanna Welty, third place. Both are fourth-grade students at McQuistion Elementary School. They also got cash prizes.
Gateway Engineers sponsored the annual contest for all fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students in the Butler School District.This is the fourth year of the contest. Several hundred students entered their posters.<br>
