Gasoline prices are nothing short of ridiculous! They are seriously jeopardizing this country and our economy. I know everyone says the President has nothing to do with oil prices; Well, I aint buying it! Last year he rejected a bill to tax oil companies record profits, saying they would be best served to take the extra money and invest it in new technology. This in effect gave the upper hand to the already established oil companies to maintain control of the development of new energy. What a joke! Why would they want to develop a new energy when they are making a killing on the one they already have? Answer; they wouldn't. Bush has used his influence as President to affect his personal investments. I see this as a serious conflict in interest to the American people and the people of the world. Now we may be approaching $4.00 a gallon gasoline. Sounds to me like someone is going to pad his nest egg as much as possible before doing his Jessie Owens impersonation from office. And we get left holding the bag, not only the oil bag , but the war bag as well. What a mess. It is hard to imagine that one individual could be responsible for so much; and the fact that he was elected TWICE is just mind boggling to me. I submit to all of you that if this President was truly interested in helping the people of this nation and those abroad that he would do everything possible to promote and speed through a scientific break through By Erie, Pa. Native John Kanzius.(previously in the letters to the editor of the butler eagle) This man was trying to find a cure for Cancer using low frequency radio waves and by accident found a way to make salt water burn. And not just burn, It burns at 3000 degrees Celsius. Gasoline burns at approximately 980 degrees Celsius. Water is the ideal green fuel. Think of the possibilities. And Mr. Kanzius wants to donate the profits of his discovery to finding a cure for cancer! Isn't this the perfect situation? Why isn't Bush jumping all over this? (Because it isn't in his best interest!) If I were President I sure would be, this discovery would go a long way to solving all of the worlds problems. For those of you who are skeptical you can see for yourself on the internet. Go to you tube and type in John Kanzius, or salt water burning. This discovery is not new. It has been around for a few years now, so I wonder, what are they waiting for? They already have small engines that run on water. Surely by now they could have at least came up with a prototype vehicle. I am not talking about fuel cells either, that is a different technology. I think Bush and Cheney are trying to suck the last drops of money they can out of everybody before they depart. If they are so interested in being green and keeping the environment healthy they have a perfect opportunity here to follow through. Their actions do not support their words, meanwhile the rest of us keep taking it and suffer through. It is unnecessary. If our government would utilize what we already have instead of squandering it and wasting it on other countries we would all have different lives. The legacy of the Bush administration is going to be one of Death, (the war) Waste (depletion of record surplus when he took office), and Stupidity (basically every move he has made since being elected) I personally think he is dumb like a fox.
