Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Mary Frances Boggs, formerly of Emlenton, celebrated her 85th birthday Sunday.

The former Mary Frances Burtner was born March 9, 1923, in Jefferson Township. She married George Boggs on May 20, 1946, at Thorn Creek Methodist Church in Butler and has four children: Beverly Jean Sasse of Butler; Barton Allen Boggs of Papillion, Neb.; Brenda Lynn Hall of Richmond, Va.; and Beth Ann Jones of Hooper, Colo. She also has 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Boggs has been a resident at Concordia since 2001. She attends Freeport Alliance Church and worked as a missionary until her retirement in 1990. In her spare time, she enjoys reading.
