Symphony notes students' musical talent
The Butler County Symphony Association will honor 64 Butler County students in grades seven through 12 as Young Musicians of Note at its March 15 concert.
The students are recognized for their interest and accomplishments in music.
Chosen by their respective music teachers, they have been awarded complimentary tickets to the concert. One student will also be awarded a gift certificate compliments of May's Music Shoppe. The Young Musicians of Note program is sponsored this year by Hefren-Tillotson.
The concert "Spotlight on a Rising Star" will feature the 29th annual Young Artist Competition winner, Andrew Ho, a 16-year-old violinist from North Allegheny High School. He will perform Camille Saint-Saens' "Introduction" and "Rondo Capriccioso, op. 28." The orchestra also will perform Elgar's Enigma "Variations," and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Russian Easter Overture."
Tickets are available at the door or by contacting the symphony office, 259 S. Main St., 724-283-1402.
